The first 100 runners to sign up will get a logo mug AND included in your registration fee is a $5.00 meal ticket to some great food at The Corner Pub! Bet you didn't expect that! A portion of the proceeds of these runs will go to buy running shoes for kids at risk in the local school districts through the Share the Spirit Foundation. I like their quote on their home page: “One shoe can change a life.” by Cinderella Based on the stories I've heard from the kids who get the shoes that certainly is true. For many of them it's the first new pair of shoes they have ever received. Truly it boosts their self-esteem!
I know many are waiting to see what the temperature is going to be. So here's what weather.gov is forecasting: At 9am on Saturday, 28 degrees, light wind at 3-4 mph. There might be a little snow on the ground from an overnight snow fall but not much.
The Iceman in you doesn't care about the winter weather... so find your Yaktraks in case you need them, dust them off if they aren't already and get prepared for a nice winter run around the neighborhood to the north, west and south of The Corner Pub. Also remember that the Iceman in you always dresses appropriately for the weather. Be safe!
We'll have a map with written directions for everyone. We also will have signs pointing the direction at all the turns. Water/Gatorade at about the 2.1 mile point. Look for these signs along the route.
The Snowman Route this time is a 1.5 mile out and back route with a little loop in the middle. It follows the point series route for the first 3/4 of a mile.
You will be given a timing tag at check in that you will be required to use to start and end your run. Don't worry about starting late or behind the group start at 9am. When you swipe your tag in front of my timing antennae it will start your individual time. When you get back to the Pub you swipe a second time to finish the run. I'd like everyone to get started by 9:15 so we can get everyone back and award the finishing certificates by 10:30.
Here's a link to pre-register. The Iceman in you wants to come out and play!
